How It Works
In the vast majority of cases, computers load their programs and data from an internal HDD (Hard Disk Drive).
Hard Disk Drives are basically boxes of rotating disks which use a stylus to read data from the disks. They are fitted internally to PCs and laptops and need to accelerate to operating speed for data to be read.
This means that a 5400rpm hard disk will need to accelerate to 5400rpm, the stylus will need to move to the disks, find the required files and retrieve them.
The above process obviously takes a small amount of time, it causes wear, generates heat, generates noise and uses more power than an SSD (Solid State Drive).
SSD`s are basically boxes of memory. Therefore a quality SSD is far more reliable, silent, generates minimal heat, uses minimal power and is always significantly faster than a hard drive (the drive does not need to accelerate to operating speed and the stylus does not need to search the drive for data).
Overall, an SSD drive is usually the best single upgrade that can currently be made to most computers (tower PCs, desktop PCs and laptops), followed closely by memory upgrades.
Although the capacity of SSDs tends to be lower than Hard Disk Drives, in most cases this is not an issue.

Please note; if your laptop is slow, or if your hard disk drive is faulty, we can simply fit a new laptop 120gb SSD drive and perform a full reinstallation. .
Laptop 120gb SSD and Installation
Simply order the laptop 120gb SSD Drive with installation service below and send us the laptop (with power supply). Carriage is approximately £10 per laptop.(with power supply). Carriage is approximately £10 per laptop.
We will test the laptop, we will clone the current hard disk drive onto the new 120gb laptop SSD drive, or fully reinstall Windows onto the new 120gb laptop SSD drive with the correct drivers etc and register the laptop with Microsoft.
If the original laptop hard disk drive is error free, we can usually virus scan and fit the original hard disk drive into an external (USB) caddy. This drive can then be plugged into a USB port and used for data storage. In most cases, this will be done without affecting files already stored on the HDD.
We will then fully soak test the laptop computer (usually for 24 hours) before returning the repaired laptop by courier.

Please note; if your PC is slow, or if your hard disk drive is faulty, we can fit a new 120gb SSD drive into a special adapter and perform a full reinstallation. We will then destroy the faulty PC Hard Disk Drive and supply a certificate of destruction.

Simply order the PC 120gb SSD Drive with installation service below and send us the PC (with power supply if the PC uses an external adapter). Carriage is approximately £15 per PC.
Please note; we will not need the mouse, keyboard or monitor.
We will test the PC, we will fit a 120gb SSD drive into a PC SSD adapter (if required), clone the original PC hard disk drive onto the new SSD drive, or fully reinstall Windows onto the new 120gb PC SSD with the correct drivers etc and register the PC with Microsoft.
If the original hard disk drive is error free and if the PC has sufficient space, we can usually virus scan and re-fit the original hard disk drive as a secondary internal unit (for data storage). In most cases, this will be done without affecting files already stored on the HDD.
We will then fully soak test the PC (usually for 24 hours) before returning the repaired PC by courier.
